BETBOOM ended Aurora's IEM Beijing run with a 2-0 win. They took Mirage and Cache by the same 13-5 scoreline and moved within one series of the playoffs.
Aurora, whose lineup includes Macedonian player Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, finished in 9th-12th place. The team had beaten G2 but lost to Liquid in its opening match. Earlier, Aurora reached three semi-finals at StarSeries, ESL Pro League and Thunderpick, followed by a quarter-final exit in Bucharest.
Both maps followed the same pattern: BETBOOM led 8-4 at halftime and then allowed their opponents only one round after the side switch. Kirill "Magnojez" Rodnov led the series with 35 kills and a 1.70 rating, followed by Daniil "d1Ledez" Kustov with 1.59. On Cache, Aurora's map pick, Kirill "Boombl4" Mikhailov topped the scoreboard with a 1.90 rating.
kyxsan finished with 23 kills, 28 deaths and a 0.89 rating.
BETBOOM will play Liquid later the same day for the last playoff spot from Group B. Aurora now have almost a month before their Major campaign in Singapore begins in Stage 3.
