Aurora beat G2 2-1 to eliminate them from IEM Beijing. Aurora took Nuke (13-9) and Dust2 (16-13), while G2 won Inferno 13-9.
Macedonian player Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski plays for Aurora and finished the series with 44 kills, 48 deaths and a 1.12 rating. The standout was Ali "Wicadia" Haydar Yalçın, who led all players with 60 kills and a 1.30 rating, including 26 kills on the deciding map.
G2 forced a decider and took Dust2 to overtime with the help of an ace from Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač, but it was not enough. It is G2's third consecutive group-stage exit since reaching the FISSURE Playground 3 final in September. Across EPL S24, PGL Bucharest and IEM Beijing they have won just one of nine series, against ShindeN.
Coach Eetu "sAw" Saha had already described the team as stagnating in Bucharest. G2 will next face MOUZ at BLAST Rivals in Hong Kong, ahead of their Major Stage 2 campaign in Singapore.
Aurora remain in the tournament and will face the loser of MOUZ vs BETBOOM in the lower bracket semi-finals.
