Virtus.pro have won the WINLINE MPKBK CIS LAN Season 9 title, beating Nemesis 3-2 in the grand final played on 23 October.
Nemesis arrived as the highest-ranked VRS team at the event and lived up to the favorite tag with a flawless group stage. They then beat WW and Black Phoenix to reach the final.
In the decider, Nemesis took Cache (13-7) and Ancient (13-7), but Virtus.pro won Mirage (13-10), Dust2 (13-11) and Nuke (13-8). Virtus.pro played the tournament with Patsi as a stand-in, and he finished as the best player of the series with a 1.14 rating.
The result was especially important for Nemesis in the race for the Singapore Major, as a title would have kept their qualification chances realistic. They now sit at 8.9%, while Virtus.pro's chances stand at 1.8%.
The only other team at the event with a shot at the Major, K27, also failed to take advantage and went out in the semi-finals.
