The PGL Masters Bucharest grand final is being played on 31 October between Nemiga and FURIA. Few expected these two teams to meet for the trophy, with Nemiga being the surprise of the tournament.
Nemiga won the first map, Ancient, 13-2 to take the series lead. On the second map FURIA responded strongly and led 10-2 at halftime, with Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis among the standout performers for the team.
Nemiga came through the open and closed qualifiers, then landed in the 1-2 pool at the event after losses to BetBoom Team and Aurora Gaming, who field the Macedonian player Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski. The team then beat The MongolZ and DENDELE, and won 2-0 against FUT and Vitality in the playoffs.
FURIA are looking for a second consecutive trophy after winning the Thunderpick World Championship, where Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato was named MVP. In Romania the team has beaten Liquid, BetBoom Team and MOUZ, as part of Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's farewell tour.
