Paper Rex has officially announced the release of Duelist Wang "Jinggg" Jing Jie. He joined the team from Team SMG in September 2021 and had been a core member of the roster ever since. In a post on X, the organization thanked him and wished him well in the future.
His Raze became a defining part of Paper Rex's aggressive playstyle. In 2023, Jinggg helped the team make its international breakthrough by winning the inaugural VCT Pacific League and finishing second at Champions Los Angeles. He then moved to a substitute role because of mandatory military service, but returned to the starting lineup in March 2024 after being deemed medically unfit for service.
2025 was arguably Paper Rex's biggest year. The team qualified for Masters Toronto, reached the grand final and beat Fnatic 3-1 to lift its first international trophy. Later that year it won the VCT Pacific Stage 2 title and finished fourth at Champions Paris.
This season brought two grand-final losses. At Masters Santiago, which Paper Rex reached through VCT Pacific Kickoff, the team lost 3-0 to Nongshim RedForce. It then won VCT Pacific Stage 1 and secured a place at Masters London, where it reached another grand final and lost 3-2 to LEVIATÁN. The last match for the Paper Rex core was against T1 at Champions Shanghai, a 2-1 defeat.
Along with Jinggg, Paper Rex announced the release of d4v41, who had declared himself looking for a team earlier this month. The roster is now invy, f0rsakeN and something, with Kumaresan "Tommy" Ramani as manager, Alexandre "alecks" Sallé as coach and Laijhun "Panda" Cheng as performance coach.
