FaZe are returning to tier-one competition at IEM Beijing 2026, opening against FURIA, who recently won PGL Masters. During the fall season FaZe have mostly been absent from this level, appearing at the Esports World Cup and at FISSURE Playground 3.
With a Major spot secured, stress levels in the team are lower. Danish player Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen told HLTV he feels more relaxed because the team no longer has to worry about points, but that they still came to Beijing to win the tournament.
JBOEN said the mood in the team keeps getting better. According to him, after the Esports World Cup the vibes were not at their best and players got frustrated easily after mistakes, but since DraculaN the team has focused more on the positive parts of its game. He also credited Twistzz for helping improve the atmosphere.
Speaking about his own development as an AWPer, he said he is getting smarter and stronger individually and learning from the more experienced players. He described Twistzz as a good leader who gives him freedom on the server. On the FURIA match, he said preparation will be the same as for any other opponent.
FaZe arrive in Beijing after a third-place finish at Tesla Cup. JBOEN is on loan at FaZe, and when asked about his future, he said he has no update.
