Astralis announced that it will play the rest of its Stake Ranked Episode 5 run in Barcelona with Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard as a stand-in. The organization's announcement did not say whom he would replace, but HLTV confirmed with the team that it is Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov.
The club said jabbi is coming straight from the airport at very little notice, and that stepping up at such a pivotal moment shows what kind of professional he is.
The swap is aimed at solving a problem with the team's Major invite. On October 13, Astralis replaced Rasmus "HooXi" Nielsen and jabbi with Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and cmtry. If cmtry played more matches for Astralis, a double roster listing could arise, putting Astralis' Major invite in jeopardy and possibly FUT's as well.
Astralis lost its opening match at the tournament to fnatic and plays magic in the lower bracket on Wednesday.
Astralis' roster for the rest of the event: Love "phzy" Smidebrant, Victor "Staehr" Staehr, Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas, Kamil "siuhy" Szkaradek and Jakob "jabbi" Nygaard (stand-in), with coach Filip "NEO" Kubski.
