ILLYRIANS booked their place in the Play-In Stage of NODWIN Clutch Series #14 by beating Fire Flux Esports 2:1 in the Group C decider on Saturday. The team, which includes Macedonian rifler VAloN, had to win its way through the lower bracket after an opening-day loss.
That loss came against the very same opponent. Fire Flux won the first meeting 2:0, but ILLYRIANS then beat Honvéd Esport 2:1 in the elimination match and earned a rematch in the decider.
Fire Flux took the first map, Anubis, 13:11. ILLYRIANS responded by winning Dust II 13:8 and then Mirage by the same score, 13:8, to take the series 2:1.
Next up for ILLYRIANS is a match against Bebop on Sunday at 10:00, in the Group A decider of CCT EU Play-In #14.
