GamerLegion have officially announced the signing of Aleksandr "shalfey" Marenov. He will take over in-game leadership from Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski, who was benched earlier the same day.
Shalfey is a 24-year-old Russian player, and this is his first international project. He spent the last two months playing in several online competitions for the former RUSTEC roster. Across various domestic rosters in 2026 he averaged a 1.06 rating.
The move comes shortly after GamerLegion finished last in the PGL Bucharest 2027 Closed Qualifier. That result leaves the team almost out of the race for the Singapore Major.
Shalfey will make his GamerLegion debut at the RLG Tesla Cup 2026, where the team face Envy in the first round on 27 October.
GamerLegion's lineup now consists of REZ, Tauson, FL4MUS, hypex and shalfey, with imd as coach.
