The first day of the DraculaN Season 7 playoffs is over, cutting the field from 16 teams to 12. Several results matter for the race to secure a place at PGL Major Singapore.
FaZe, the highest-ranked team at the event, beat ASTRAL 2-1. The deciding map, Cache, went to overtime, and Jason "JBOEN" Boe Nielsen was central to the win. If FaZe reach at least the top four here and make the final three at RLG Tesla Cup, the European roster would be all but certain of a Major spot.
Envy lost 0-2 to BASEMENT BOYS in their opener but beat INFINITE 2-0 to stay alive in the lower bracket. A deep run at both DraculaN and RLG Tesla Cup is likely needed for them to reach Singapore.
The biggest surprise was Luminosity's exit. They lost 1-2 to Nexus and then 0-2 to BBL in the lower bracket. Their Major hopes are not entirely gone, but they now need to win RLG Tesla Cup, where they face FaZe, B8, GamerLegion and Envy.
BC.Game moved closer to Stage 2 of the Singapore Major with a 2-0 win over BBL. The team of Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev now needs to keep winning and hope The MongolZ and TYLOO slip up.
Twelve teams remain across the upper and lower brackets. The next day's schedule includes SINNERS vs HEROIC, FaZe vs JiJieHao, BASEMENT BOYS vs Eternal Fire and BC.Game vs Nexus.
